T’ai Chi Summer Holiday 2012
5-10 August 2012 • Öland, Sweden

The T’ai Chi Summer Holiday 2012 will take place on the very special island of Öland, which is in the Baltic Sea off the east coast of Sweden. The centre for the course will be Stora Frögardån (‘big seed-garden’), a well-established youth hostel offering modern facilities, with its own beach a few steps away. The hostel is situated near the village of Mörbylånga, in an area designated by Unesco as a World Heritage Site (a ‘historic agricultural landscape’). There are pictures available on various websites (see links below).
The cook, who is trained in French cuisine, has an interest in vegetarian food and grows his own herbs on site. All available rooms are for two people sharing (all the single options are now fully booked). Each room has its own WC and shower. There is sufficient accommodation to allow us to invite non-participant friends or relatives if you would like to bring someone along.

There are various different travel routes, offering a choice of ‘low-cost’ airlines. As always, we leave participants to make their own travel arrangements, but we can help by putting people in touch with each other to share their researches.
The course will be centred on the T’ai Chi Yang Style Long Form, as taught by the late Gerda Geddes, and will also encompass both Qi Gong, and voicework and singing. The participants will include Scandinavian and British people, and maybe some from other places – teaching in English will be available throughout. The course will be led by Catherine Robinson and Gudrun Gylling, with the assistance of the famed singer and voice coach Moa Brynnel.
The cost for the course includes accommodation and teaching, with breakfast buffet, packed lunch and evening dinner. Sheets and towels are provided, but you must clean your room yourself, or pay an extra 150SEK on leaving. No travel costs are included. The basic price is 5900SEK (about £560) per person in a shared room. Non-participants pay 4000SEK (about £380) per person in a shared room.
The holiday is being organised by Gudrun in Sweden and all costs are in Swedish Krona (SEK). We can accept a Sterling deposit (£60) to secure your place, but the balance must be paid direct to Gudrun in SEK by International Bank Transfer. All Sterling equivalents quoted are approximate because of fluctuations in the exchange rate; and you can see a guide to the latest rates here.

To book, please download and complete a Booking Form and send it with your deposit. Alternatively, you can pay the deposit by online banking, but you need to call Catherine first (details on the Booking Form).
